ArcGIS License Manager

ArcGIS License Manager is a network-based licensing utility from Esri that centralizes the authorization and distribution of ArcGIS concurrent-use licenses across your organization. Built on FlexNet Publisher, it helps IT and GIS administrators manage floating seats for selected ArcGIS products—such as ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap), ArcGIS Pro (concurrent use), ArcGIS Engine, CityEngine, and associated extensions—ensuring users have access when they need it while optimizing overall license utilization.

Key capabilities include:

• Centralized control of license allocation and reclamation
• Real-time monitoring of license availability and usage
• License borrowing for offline work, with admin-defined durations and policies
• Configuration of ports, logging, and service settings
• Support for redundant (triad) server configurations to enhance availability

ArcGIS License Manager runs as a service on supported Windows and Linux platforms and is administered through the License Server Administrator application (GUI and command line). By consolidating licensing in one place, it simplifies compliance, reduces administrative overhead, and provides clear visibility into how ArcGIS seats are used across teams and departments.

ArcGIS License Manager is developed by ESRI and is used by 601 users of Software Informer. The names of program executable files are ArcScene.exe, ArcGlobe.exe, ArcReader.exe, ArcCatalog.exe and ArcMap.exe. Works with gnd, mxd, mxt, sxd, sxt, 3dd and 3dt file types.
